Hurley, Arehart join ALOFT AeroArchitects Board

GEORGETOWN, DE (October 5, 2023) – Scott Meyer, CEO of ALOFT AeroArchitects, announces aviation industry veterans David C. Hurley and Jack Arehart have been named to the board of directors for the Delaware-based aerospace company.  “ALOFT is a long-standing specialist in the development and integration of systems and emerging technology that enhance the capability of the world’s most well-known aircraft platforms.  As a result, ALOFT is continually seeking to leverage the experience and insights of highly regarded industry experts,” Meyer stated.

According to ALOFT Board Member James Albaugh, “Hurley and Arehart come from an elite group of aviation executives with legendary backgrounds that include decades in aviation innovation. Their addition to our board brings a significant depth of experience totaling 100 years.  Their experience in fielding products and creating solutions will be a direct benefit to the ALOFT team and our broad range of customers, from VIP aircraft operators to new start-up product innovators looking for engineering and STC support to bring their products to market.”

Hurley also serves on the board of directors for Aviation Partners Boeing. He previously served as CEO and Vice Chairman of PrivatAir, Inc. based in Geneva, Switzerland. As a co-founder of Business Express Airlines, he played a crucial role in the launch of Delta Airlines’ Delta Connection. Earlier in his career, he founded Flight Services Group, which PrivatAir acquired. Hurley has served on several public and private boards, holds an Executive Masters Certification with the American College of Corporate Directors, and has the distinction of being Chairman Emeritus of the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum in Washington, D.C.

Citing Arehart’s accomplishments, Albaugh said, “Arehart retired from Delta Airlines where he served as President of Delta TechOps MRO Services, successfully establishing Delta Material Services and Delta Flight Products subsidiaries. Under Arehart’s leadership, Delta TechOps built the largest U.S. indoor jet engine test cell which is helping the organization transition into the newest generation of jet engines.”

Earlier in his career while at Tulsa-based NORDAM, Arehart led the development, certification, production, sales, and support of the stage-three noise reduction 737 Hush Kit. Following the certification of the 737 Hush Kit, Arehart directed NORDAM’s expansion into an OEM for business jet nacelle and thrust reversers.
